DRINKING WATER CONTAMINATED IN EDINBURG?

CALLING ON OUR MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL!!!

A Company by the name of AQUAKLEEN has representatives going door to door here in our very own city of Edinburg as well as the rest of the Valley running tests on our tap water free of charge. They will schedule an appointment with you and your family, come into your home and demonstrate what contamination our very own tap water has in it. Yes, that is correct our TAP water, the one some drink and all shower in. IS THIS TRUE? HOW COULD THIS BE? We here at the POLITICAL RING are NOT ONLY ADVOCATING THE GENERAL PUBLIC, but imagine if the very same water we use at home has also penetrated public schools. Is this a PUBLIC OUTCRY or simply some company trying to lure some business by using the Good Ol Karl Rove tactic, SCARE THEM HALF TO DEATH, them being us the American people, THEN THEY'LL BELIEVE ANYTHING. Well the answer to that remains to be seen, these demonstrations are free of charge and may prove to be disturbing. So We are calling on all concerned citizens to phone the council and mayor with any concern, if this proves to be true, these issues need some serious swift addressing. And on the other hand lets not think for one minute that it isn't possible, just be vigilant in what this Company offers or tries to convince you to do. Again, take what I'm blogging with a grain of salt, are these FACTS ABOUT THE WATER BEING CONTAMINATED? NOT AS OF YET, but AQUAKLEEN WILL PERFORM THESE TEST IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. And as far as I'm concerned, this Company is real and are there FREE OF CHARGE DEMONSTRATIONS REAL? YES. So I welcome Mr.Espinoza, Mr.Garcia, Ms Garza, Mr.Garza (no relation to Ms Garza) or Mayor Ochoa to come to this blog or some type of public notice to insure the public that if any ISSUES arise from our very own WATER, That these issues are being resolved TODAY, not tommorrow like the sewer on canton and sugar. We the GENERAL PUBLIC should not stand for the whole "WAIT AND SEE APPROACH" If these political or public officials know something about our water, then we demand to know the truth of the possible dangers. So, Again for those with blogs, take the initiative and lets get some answers about our very own community's water supply, lets have this common ground today and if our water proves to be contaminated, we should not only blog about it, but educate the children about it as well. Let the bloggers take this PRIORITY ISSUE first and worry about the POLITICAL CLASHING later. I know theres always two sides to every argument or the odds of this being nothing, but we should prepare, educate, and cooperate if this story is in fact TRUE. All help will be greatly needed and appreciated by our community.

I don't know what kind of tests the company is runninng, but this is not a new sales method. We have had representatives of sales companies trying to sale the reverse osmosis systems come to our home to show us how dirty and how many impurities come out of the tap. The procedure shows a really gross end product. Yes the test is free, but not the system they are trying to sell. It is an in home infomercial.

You have the same tactic by vacuum cleaner salespeople. They will demonstrate to you how much dirt your vacuum leaves behind.

For peace of mind, one could always call the water treatment plant to find out directly from them if they are within the quality guidelines. They monitor water quality constantly. The water may not taste that great, but it probably is safe for drinking.

Most of us have adopted drinking bottled water, not because tap is unsafe, because it just tastes better and is better filtered than straight tap.

OK, here it is. These very people called my house trying to get me to let them test my water. They tried to tell me that our water may not be safe. This is just a scare tactic!!! They must have something to sell. Please don't set doubt in our citizens mind that there might be something wrong with our water. The city is inspected by the state, and so far we have recieved nothing less than excellent ratings. (public record by the way) I may have our attoney look into these rumors that they are spreading.

Mr.Espinoza,
Good to hear that and that Company's name is AQUAKLEEN and they have stated that Edinburg's tap water is contaminated, to what extent I don't know. And they also stated that there services of checking the water was free of charge. Now about using scare tactics, We simply print what comes up around the community, issues THAT MAY AFFECT our COMMUNITY POLITICALY, SOCIALY, or ECONOMICALLY. Lets not RESORT to the current White House Administration's tactics on keeping the public in the dark about the going ons around here in our community. Now can a statement be made about our DRINKING WATER BEING CONTAMINATED? Who knows, I am not an attorney, but CORPORATE AMERICA can MARKET JUST ABOUT ANYTHING THESE DAYS. Why, this Company can declare they have a cure for cancer, now who's to say they are CREDIBLE? Hence THE REASON I PRINTED THE BLOG. So that blogs may converse about in depth details about such MARKETING TACTICS or REAL ISSUES.

Shaine,
Good Point.

dac,
Infomercial? Maybe the scare tactic helps there sales pitch. But it doesn't negate the fact of a really gross end product.

Gentlemen great to hear your responses, now that is what blogging should be comprised of. My respects to you all and thanks for your take on these matters. Mr.Espinoza, I can't say we will always agree on everything in the future, but I will respect your attention to address the issues. Now I may become a burden to you at times for being a squeeky wheel, but just as long as our community benefits is all that matters.

Did Aquakleen actually use the word "contaminated"? Contamination by state standards is the excess of either organic compounds or toxins in the water that are known to be harmful to human consumption. Tap water typically has small amounts of chlorine, iron, copper and other minerals that don't sound "clean" and that add an odor to tap water. This isn't what is necessarily found in contaminated water. On the other hand, water tested at a city facility is also cleaner than when tested at a home. That's because the water pipes are usually outdated and may move compounds from the facility to the home. Still, it doesn't constitute tap water to be contaminated.

Mr.Culligan Man,
Pipes are no longer copper, but rather PVC for the most part except for a few exceptions, and most of the pipes aint underneath the newer homes, just the plumbing taking out the the discarded materials in most households. Most pvc pipes and copper extensions are running through the attic space. That is why the water must run a while when its a hot day outside, due to the attic being so hot. NOW, the Representative spoke in TEX/MEX and REITERATED on HOW THE WATER was CONTAMINATED here in the VALLEY due to and I quote, "THE RIO GRANDE / RIO BRAVO FROM LAREDO TO BROWNSVILLE causes much contamination to our homes' water supply" again that was a direct quote from the Gentleman from AQUAKLEEN. LEVELS of CONTAMINATION IS NEVER REALLY ADDRESSED, I guess just the word alone brings an unsettling feeling to most consumers hearing this type of sales pitch. LABELS such as CONTAMINATION, SECURITY, or HAZARDOUS are just a few to mention that have people scrambling to find remedies. NOW of how true such labels are, well I'm sitting here just blogging and I'm no Scientist, biologist nor chemist to illustrate such FACTS. And I will not demonstrate PURE UNADULTERATED IGNORANCE in trying to ACT AS IF I HAVE THE ANSWERS TO SUCH THINGS. I'm simply passing on the information that was said during our meeting and let the public decide what they wish to believe. Consider the AQUAKLEEN issue an FYI, how true again it is, is yet to be determined. So, I'm counting on other bloggers to come forth with any details and knowledge of such issues. So I really appreciate a person with that knowledge such as Mr.Culligan, to come on here and educate us on such issues. Thank you for your comments.
